Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. and Accelitec Inc. have formed a strategic alliance to offer contactless transaction systems to retailers, enabling faster, more secure and convenient payment methods for consumers.

Under terms of the agreement, Fujitsu will resell and integrate Accelitec's PayPilot suite of transaction solutions into its GlobalSTORE point-of-sale (POS) application and Pervasive Retailing Framework (PRF). Fujitsu's PRF is a unified set of software, services and tools that enables real-time retailing interoperability.

PayPilot easily integrates directly into merchants' POS systems, enabling them to quickly and cost-effectively take control of and lower transaction fees, increase shopper throughput and build customer loyalty and satisfaction. It also uses a highly secure RFID-based technology to build a stronger relationship between retailers and consumers, regardless of how they choose to pay. Leveraging several Microsoft platforms, including .NET, PayPilot enables retailers to establish customized programs and offer shoppers new and more convenient payment methods, said the press release.

"Retailers want more from their POS investments and PayPilot seamlessly integrates to the POS. As such, it makes perfect sense that we align and partner with Fujitsu, the hottest and most innovative store systems technology provider in the retailing space today," said Accelitec CEO Tom Bartz. "Leveraging Fujitsu's extensive field sales force and the integration to the Pervasive Retailing Framework will help accelerate and extend the reach of our offering."
