SMK Corp. announced the development of a screw-type terminal board connector. According to the company, this screw-type product is used for stranded and VVF solid soft copper wires. Materials used are RoHS compliant and are plated.

The mounting structure passing through the panel is said to make three-dimensional layout possible, and helps save mounting space.

Features of the connector include: a screw type accepting 0.5mm2 to 4 mm2 stranded wires and 1.6mm or 2mm diameter VVF solid soft copper wire; Faston terminals for easy connection; 25A capacity connector contacts and three-pole design.

The product suits applications such as room air conditioners, ventilators, hot water suppliers, hand dryers and bathroom dryers.

Major specifications include: a voltage and current rating of 25A 300V AC, maximum contact resistance of 50 milliohms (conductor resistance excluded), insulation resistance of 100 megohm (min.) at 500V DC, and withstanding voltage of 2,500V AC for one minute (between terminals, and terminal and mounting panel).

SMK's production capacity is at 200,000 units per month. Pricing is at $1.32 per unit.
