Torque Transmission has introduced a line of right-angle gear drives designed for a wide variety of right-angle motion control applications.

Available in two models, the RAB standard right-angle drive and MAD miniature angle drives, these devices are housed in low-cost glass-reinforced nylon. Both models feature a choice of one or two inputs and 1:1 or 2:1 gear ratios, right- or left-hand configuration, and may be operated in either direction. They are RoHS compliant.

The RAB Model gear drive measures 3-21/32 x 3-15/16 x 1-1/4 inches deep and weighs 12 ounces. It uses shielded lubricated, hardened steel ball bearings and gears. It is rated at 1,600rpm and 1/3 horsepower maximum speed is 3,000rpm.

The MAD Model measures 1.25-by-1.25 inches and weighs 85.04g, making it suitable for applications where size and weight are key design issues. The gear drive uses permanently lubricated gear drives, hardened steel helical gears, and smooth operating non-metallic bearings. It is rated at 1,800 maximum RPM and 1/8 horsepower continuous duty.

Applications for the right-angle gear boxes include medical and physical therapy equipment, packaging equipment, or any fractional horsepower application that calls for a compact, lightweight and low-cost power transmission.

Prices start at $70.00, and most configurations are available from stock.
