Precision film resistors boast low temperature coefficient

Caddock Electronics has introduced the USF300 series of precision film resistors with tight stability and low temperature coefficient (TC) values for high-accuracy, precision analog designs.

The USF300 series is available in three models based on different voltage and power ratings: USF340 (300V, 0.33W), USF370 (1,400V, 0.75W), and USF371 (2,500V, 0.75W). They offer a wide resistance range from 50 ohms to 25 Megohms, a low TC of 5ppm/C (from -40C to 85C, referenced to 25C), and standard tolerances of 0.10 percent or 0.01 percent.

Custom parts are available including matched resistor pairs and sets with ratio TCs as tight as 0.5ppm/C for equal resistance values.

The USF300 series resistors are manufactured with an alumina (aluminum oxide) ceramic sandwich that is said to offer exceptional thermal performance, and provides a good heat flow away from the resistor element to minimize the temperature rise in the resistor due to power dissipation as compared to "plastic package" low TC resistors. This provides extremely stable operating performance as power is applied to the resistor, said the company.

Pricing for OEM customers in North America in quantities of 100 include: $5.76 for the USF340-1.00M (0.10 percent, 5ppm, 300V, 0.33W); $10.08 for the USF340-1.00M (0.01 percent, 5ppm, 300V, 0.33W), and $11.35 for the USF371-25.0M (0.10 percent, 5ppm, 2,500V, 0.75W). Delivery is from stock (for engineering samples) to eight weeks.
