O2Micro International Ltd was issued 18 claims under U.S. patent number 7,026,860 for its Compensated Self-Biasing Current Generator topology.

The patented topology provides temperature and supply voltage compensation to enhance IC performance by providing a tighter design tolerance. Current generators are used in a variety of circuits and applications, such as DC/DC and DC/AC applications.

"This patented design will enhance product reliability, performance and reduce the total design cost by eliminating external compensation circuitry," said Dr. Yung Lin, executive vice president at O2Micro, in a statement.
