Sirenza Microdevices announced the production release of a new family of linear power amplifiers for WiMAX (802.16 d/e) and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g) applications. The new SZP series of products are single stage high linearity power amplifier ICs aimed at the WiMAX and Wi-Fi end markets.

The first two products to be released in the SZP series are the SZP-2026Z and the SZP-3026Z. Produced in InGaP HBT technology, the SZP-3026Z operates over the 3GHz to 3.8GHz frequency range with 12dB of gain and provides over 26dBm of linear power at 2.5 percent EVM. The SZP-2026Z covers the 2.1GHz to 2.7GHz frequency range with over 12.5dB gain and also provides over 26dBm of linear power at 2.5 percent EVM.

Both products operate from a single 5Vdc supply and feature an adjustable on-chip active bias circuit. The SZP series also features power up/power down control, which aims to save power during receive modes in addition to an on-chip power detector. Housed in a surface mount SOF-26 package, both products have an ESD rating of class 1C (1kV HBM) and MTTF of 1 million hours.

The SZP-2026Z and SZP-3026Z are available for immediate shipment in a RoHS compliant, lead-free package.
