RMV Electronics has introduced the Sport 232-ST, an intelligent single-axis stepper motor with data acquisition and control features.

The Sport 232-ST offers step speeds up to 8,500 steps per second, acceleration and deceleration, a 24bit position register, full- and half-step operations, and a shaft encoder for feedback operations. This module is said to provide a cost-effective solution for applications that require smooth motion and higher torque, along with keeping both power consumption and heat generation to a minimum.

The product features 8 analog input channels with a range of 0 to 2.5Vdc. Four channels offer low offset, precision (1 megohm impedance) signal conditioning. This configuration enables the stepper motors to be tied to analog or digital inputs or digital outputs, said the company.

These devices also feature an external trigger that allows for hardware synchronization, internal FIFO (128) for profiling movement and remote current control via software from 50mA to 2,000mA. This software supports Windows or Linux. For remote operations, the Sport 232-ST can be connected to a RMV RS485-RS232 converter.

RMV products are available from International Circuit Sales. The RMV Sport 232-ST is priced at $151. Delivery is two to three weeks.
