EDA and intellectual property (IP) vendor Denali Software announced the availability of a new verification IP package to address the wide range of storage device standards used in consumer electronics products.

According to Denali, the new verification IP package enables system developers to simulate the interaction between consumer electronic designs and the various storage device options, including CE-ATA hard disk drives, MMC, SD and Memory Stick flash cards.

David Lin, Denali's vice president of product marketing, said through a statement that the company works closely with leading memory manufacturers to ensure that it provides the highest quality simulation models available.

"This new packaging lets hardware designers use the same verification IP environment to simulate virtually any commercial storage device," Lin said. "The common environment provides dramatic reductions in development cycle time by speeding functional verification, and enabling earlier software and firmware development."

The verification IP package provides developers with a combination of MMAV and Purespec to enable simulation of all commercial storage devices used in consumer electronic products, including: CE-ATA, CompactFlash, MMCplus MMCmobile, MMCmicro, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SDIO, SD Card and mini SD, Denali said.
