VadaTech PrPMC module integrates Tundra's host bridge

Tundra Semiconductor Corp. announced that the Tundra Tsi109 Host Bridge will be integrated into the VadaTech PMC710 Processor PCI mezzanine card (PrPMC) module.

The Tsi109 host bridge supports a dual processor bus at 167MHz. In addition to 2.5W typical power dissipation, the host bridge supports DDR2 memory. Tundra host bridges are suitable companion chips for Freescale MPC74xx processors.

Recently announced, the VadaTech PMC710 is a PrPMC that combines the Tsi109 host bridge with a Freescale MPC7448 PowerPC processor. The PMC710 is touted to have the flexibility to update the CPU while maintaining the rest of the subsystem I/O. It has a modular form factor, which makes this PrPMC suitable for power-sensitive applications.

VadaTech will be integrating the Tsi109 into its Dual CPU PrPMC, the PMC712, which is designed for power sensitive applications in communications, defense/aerospace and industrial control. The PMC712 is scheduled to be released in June 2006. Customers can upgrade their Tsi109 to access I/O connectivity with other Tundra host bridges such as the Tsi110 with PCI Express connectivity.

The Tsi109 is available in both standard and lead-free packages for commercial and industrial temperatures. Volume pricing for the Tsi109 is under $75. The VadaTech PMC710 is currently shipping in prototype to lead customers.
