Celsia Technologies, a solution provider and licensor of thermal management products and technology, and Lighting Science Group Corp., a designer and marketer of LED lighting solutions based on its optimized digital lighting (ODL) technology, announced a sales and development agreement.

Under the terms of the contract, Celsia will create new thermal management solutions for Lighting Science's general illumination LED lighting products, including its ODL Low Bay facilities lighting fixtures and LED R30 light bulbs. Celsia will contribute its technology of micro-fluids and two-phase heat transfer as well as the manufacturing process. Lighting Science will contribute its design knowledge, sales and marketing resources, and experience in LED applications. Lighting Science will also be the exclusive distributor of these new thermal management solutions.

"We are enthusiastic about working with Lighting Science because we will be able to leverage development, manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution resources," said Hakan Wretsell, CEO of Celsia Technologies. "By having these combined resources in place, we will be able to accelerate our commercialization process and improve time to market. With our new distribution agreement in place, Celsia's technology will be included in these next-generation illumination solutions. We have already delivered 1,000 test units to Lighting Science, and are optimistic about the prospects of this relationship."

"Celsia's technology will expand our product offering, enabling us to design products for the general illumination market, including Par, MR and other standard-format replacement bulbs," said Ron Lusk, chairman and chief executive officer of Lighting Science. "We expect that by having a new thermal management solution, we will be able to develop higher lumen, more efficient LED lighting solutions for our customers."
