Picor's new EMI filter

Picor, a subsidiary of Vicor Corp., has expanded its QPI QuietPower input filter product line with two product additions that are optimized for use with Vicor's V-I Chip devices. The QPI-12 V-I Chip EMI filter and the QPI-10 V-I Chip EMI filter with hot swap are suitable for AdvancedTCA applications.

The QPI-12 EMI filter attenuates conducted common-mode and differential-mode noise in compliance with CISPR22 requirements. The filter operates from 10Vdc to 76Vdc and supports 7A loads up to 80C. Two filters can be connected in parallel for higher power. The QPI-12 is packaged in a 12.4-by-25-by-4.5mm size LGA SiP, and occupies 0.5-inch2 board area.

The QPI-10 complies with AdvancedTCA PICMG 3.0 requirements for hot insertion and board-level conducted noise limitations defined by EN 55022 class B. The EMI filter provides conducted common-mode and differential-mode noise attenuation from 150kHz to 30MHz. The QPI-10 is designed for use on a 48Vdc or 60Vdc bus (36-76Vdc). The in-rush current limit and circuit breaker are designed to satisfy the 200W per board PICMG 3.0 limit up to 70C PC-board temperature around the QPI-10. The QPI-10 is housed in a 25-by-25-by-4.5mm SiP.

Packaged in anti-static tubes, the QPI-12 EMI filter is priced at $6.75 and the QPI-10 sells for $12.10, in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
