Shenzhen Hisilicon Technologies Co. Ltd will be unveiling its new H.264 media processor at this week's Computex Taipei 2006, which opens today and will run until June 10.

The GOAL Hi3510, a multi-core SoC with ARM9, DSP and video acceleration engine, supports real-time video encoding of DVD quality, and provides powerful image processing capability. According to Hisilicon, this device can auto-adapt image compression rate according to bandwidth vibration, which guarantees the high definition and real-time requirement of image processing. Moreover, its high coding efficiency at low bit-rates results in low network storage requirements. The GOAL Hi3510 provides excellent security protection with its hardware implemented DES/3DES/AES encryption/decryption engine, added the company.

All advantages of the GOAL Hi3510, including its open source operating system, various network communication protocols and hardware implemented video codec, bring on reduced R&D cost and shortened time to market, said the press release. The GOAL Hi3510 chipset can be used on network surveillance applications, video phones, digital door phones, personal video recorders and other network video related solutions.

The GOAL Hi3510 is already available in commercial quantities.
