Yokogawa Electric Corp. announced the development of its SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE, a new digitizing oscilloscope added to the company's existing ScopeCorder Series. Although Yokogawa Electric says its new scope will be available next month, pricing has been established at about $7,500, but not much additional technical information is available at this time.

What is known is that the SL1400 will have multi-channel input capability, and a 10.4-inch color LCD. It will be able to operate at a maximum sample rate of 10MSps, storing 50 Mwords in memory. Three setting knobs will let each setting be made in the same way as with an analog instrument.

The SL1400 ScopeCorder LITE can be equipped with up to 16 analog channels and 16-bit logic inputs, supporting applications such as simultaneous multiple measurements.

Input modules
A variety of input modules will also be used to configure the scope. These plug into the right side of the oscilloscope's cabinet.

A total of eleven plug-in input-modules will be available for applications such as voltage, temperature, strain, acceleration, and frequency. It is also equipped with USB and flash card memory options.

Like many Yokogawa scopes, the SL1400 also includes a built-in A4-sized printer. It can be used to print waveform charts in realtime. As a thermal printer, with 210-mm width paper, it's a standard feature.
