Syscan Imaging Inc., a developer of HDTV technology solutions, through its Sysview Technology group, announced the signing of a license to manufacture and sell a proprietary 3-panel liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) optical engine developed by Next Wave Optics Inc. As part of the agreement, George Mihalakis of Next Wave has joined Sysview as CTO, along with his optical engine development team.

The Sysview Next Wave OE product's architecture features a 2-piece solid-core prism. Developed for the consumer TV mass market, it integrates the Sysview Nano-LCOS microdisplay imager. According to Syscan, the product has streamlined native-1080p rear projection HDTVs on the market, without sacrifice of performance or cost advantage.
