Taiyo Yuden Inc. said the LBMF1608 series wirewound chip inductors are now being produced at the rate of 10 million units per month. The LBMF1608 is touted as the first device to achieve a 47H inductance rating in a 0603 case size.

The LBMF1608 is 33 percent smaller by volume than equivalent-rated 0805 inductors typically used in the IC input power circuits of cell phones, PDAs, still/video cameras and other mobile digital equipment. This series also provides a 51 percent smaller footprint and 64 percent lower profile than 0805 case size devices, while maintaining the same low DC resistance (RDC) and high-inductance characteristics of the larger-size component.

A total of six part numbers are currently offered in the LBMF1608 series. Sample price is 30 cents each. Delivery is two weeks.
