Nippon Mining & Metals Co. Ltd (NMM) announced it has licensed the technology and trademark for its Gould Electronics Inc. subsidiary's TCR embedded resistor product to Ticer Technologies LLC.

Ticer Technologies is a new company formed in March 2006 by a Gould management group. It will relocate from the Gould copper foil facility in Chandler, Arizona, to a nearby site. Ticer Technologies said it will have machinery and laboratory equipment used to support the TCR product and service customers. The company expects to have the new facility open for business September 1, 2006.

Gould is currently manufacturing and selling the TCR product and these activities will be transferred to Ticer Technologies during August.

The new company will retain a separate but collaborative relationship with NMM. Ticer Technologies and NMM will use their combined strengths to grow TCR in North America, Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Gould said it developed TCR thin film resistor foil to meet the challenges of packaging high speed, high density electronic devices.

NMM produces electrodeposited copper foil, rolled annealed copper foil, and sputtered adhesiveless flex laminate for the rigid and flex PCB industry. It also produces sputtering targets for semiconductor applications, flat panel displays and data storage devices.
