Emerson Network Power's Astec expanded NTS Series line of 350W bulk AC/DC switching power supplies includes new 54V output configurations for front-end and distributed power applications.

The high-density NTS359 models, in a compact 4-by-7-inch footprint, operate at 85 percent efficiency. The convection-cooled configuration provides 200W for 1U (1.75-inch high) rack-mount chassis and other low-profile applications, while the fan-cooled option supplies the full rated output up to 50C with 30 CFM forced air. For added flexibility, the units can be set up for lengthwise or crosswise airflow.

The universal input modules feature active power-factor-correction. A built-in OR-ing diode eliminates the need for external circuitry when using the device in a redundant configuration. The units also include a 12V, 1A auxiliary output, 5V, 2A standby output as well as overload, over-voltage, and thermal protection.

The NTS359 models incorporate built-in Class B EMI filtering, remote sense, remote inhibit and single-wire parallelling on the primary output that enables current-sharing to balance loads. The supplies are rated for operation over 0 to 50C without derating (and up to 70C, derated at 2.5 percent per C. They comply with IEC EN61000-3-2 harmonic and IEC EN61000-4-X susceptibility standards.

Pricing begins at $299 in OEM quantities.
