Laird Technologies has introduced ceramic antennas targeted at handset and wireless data device markets. According to the company, the small-form ceramic antennas come equipped with Bluetooth, wireless LAN and GPS capabilities that can be integrated into PCMCIA cards, mobile handsets, laptops and other wireless products. The devices also feature low dielectric losses and high isolation from other antennas all while shrinking expenses, Laird said.

The company's antenna portfolio includes three different offerings: standard antennas; tuned or adaptive antennas with customized specifications and original dimensions; and fully customized antennas for specific patterns and dimensions.

The new ceramic antennas are already available and prices range from 15 to 40 cents depending on order size and type of antenna.
