Omron RFID has announced the introduction of its V720 Series HF (13.56MHz) ISO 15693 readers which comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) directive.

The suite of new products includes 4W and 1W output fixed type readers (V720S-BC5D4, V720S-CD1D), and an embedded OEM reader (V720S-HMC73). The company began producing V720 HF series readers in 2000 and since then has shipped more than 300,000 units worldwide. They are used today in a wide variety of RFID reader applications including manufacturing and distribution logistics, consumer goods packaging, libraries and the apparel industry.

"Omron provides both readers and tags in HF and UHF. This means we provide a total RFID solution, covering both item tagging using HF and logistics management using UHF. Today, this enables users to not only realize one-stop shopping, but also enjoy optimized performance from an overall best solution," says Bill Arnold, chief strategist of Omron RFID.
