Online tool eases backplane connector design

Molex Inc. offers backplane connector designers an online Backplane Connector Configurator tool to help them streamline their design process.

This tool enables registered users to create daughtercard proposal drawings and their BOMs quickly and efficiently. Designers can create their own custom parts and develop proposal drawings in minutes instead of weeks, said the company, which allows them to significantly lower their costs, and speed up their design process.

In addition, the Backplane Connector Configurator allows users to choose their specific layouts based on a wide selection of available daughtercard components including VHDM, VHDM-HSD, VHDM RAM and GbX backplane connectors. Molex said this eliminates the confusion and mistakes typically associated with a manual process and, in turn, helps bring products to market faster.
