Chip resistors deliver 500V working voltage

KOA Speer Electronics has introduced the HV73 series of high-voltage thickfilm flat chip resistors with a maximum working voltage of 500V.

The HV73 series chip resistors are said to provide superior capabilities compared to standard thickfilm flat chip resistors at the maximum working voltage. Devices in the series include the 1J device rated at 350V, 2A with a resistance value range of 10 kil次 to 10 meg次 and the 2B chip rated at 500 V with a resistance value range of 100k次 to 10M次. Resistance tolerances are available at 0.5 percent, 1 percent, 2 percent and 5 percent. The 1J chip resistor is packaged in an 0603 case size and the 2B is available in a 1206 package.

The company said the HV73 chip resistors reduce spacing requirements and may decrease the total number of resistors needed in high-voltage applications. In addition, the metal glaze thickfilm provides excellent heat and moisture resistance. The resistors are Pb-free, RoHS compliant devices. Applications include camera strobes, LCD monitors, navigational equipment and dc/ac invertors for use in LCD TVs.

Pricing is approximately 14 cents each at 5,000 pieces per reel in small quantities. Delivery is nine to 11 weeks.
