Dominant Semiconductors announced its high-power LED technology is used in the Identiy i1 concept car being presented at the International Motor Show of Geneva.

According to the press release, the front position lamp of the car is incorporated into the new generation rear-view mirrors with turn signals, thereby improving safety by increasing the visibility of the car's full front width even under adverse light conditions.

The company said this innovation is made possible by its LED technology. The company's high-power white SPNovaLED have been integrated into the front position lamp to improve the vehicle's visibility even during day driving. These LEDs promise long life and durability, eliminating the need for replacement. Their small footprint make them suitable substitutes for conventional light source.

This technology also enhances visibility during night driving as the front position lamp installed on the rear-view mirror does not absorb light when the low beams are turned on, unlike position lamps placed on the front headlamp. Position lamps on the rear-view mirrors are turned on together with the low beams.
