Ansoft simulation software included in Cadence Connections Program

EDA software provider Ansoft Corp. announced that its Nexxim, the company's circuit simulation software for high-performance IC design and signal-integrity analysis, has been accepted into Cadence Design Systems Inc.'s Connections Program.

According to the press release, the Cadence Connections program promotes interoperability in all areas of electronic design, bringing value and third-party solutions to customers' design chain. Members of this program develop integrated software solutions that extend and add value to Cadence's design and verification technology. With more than 130 member companies, the Connections program has the industry's largest collection of third-party solutions working together with Cadence to make mutual customers more successful, the press release further said.

The integration of Nexxim into the Cadence Virtuoso Analog Design Environment allows designers of complex DigitalRF CMOS ICs and GaAs/SiGe RFICs to gain access to Ansoft's new circuit simulation technology, without the costs and risks associated with changing design methodologies.

Nexxim bridges the gap between traditional analog SPICE simulation and RF circuit simulation by providing both frequency- and time-domain solutions from the same circuit (schematic and netlist) using the same device models. For high-performance analog/RF/mixed-signal IC design, explained Ansoft, Nexxim leverages a multitude of algorithmic innovations in harmonic balance and transient analyses to achieve the accuracy and robust convergence needed for sensitive analog blocks.

Ansoft will be participating at the 14th Annual EDA & Test-Taiwan Conference & Exhibition (EDA&T-Taiwan) on August 17-18 in Taiwan.
