56SQ2 AC/DC power supply

The 56SQ2 AC/DC supply from North Atlantic Industries delivers 300W for VME/VXI applications.

The conduction-cooled, quad-output supply (plus a fifth output to provide standby power), is designed to fit in a standard 6U VME system backplane rack. Suited for military and aerospace applications, it meets NAVMAT component derating guidelines and each unit receives ESS screening, including burn-in and temperature cycling. The unit includes EMI filtering per MIL-STD-461E and input transient protection per MIL-STD-704E.

The 56SQ12, which works from a universal input (110-242Vac, 47-440Hz) and can be configured for either a single-phase or three-phase source, provides 3.3-,5- and 12Vdc; there's also a 5Vdc standby source. Operating efficiency is 75 percent typical. The unit's protection features include output current-limiting, continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery, and output over-voltage and temperature monitoring circuitry. The supply issues a power fail warning for input under-voltage conditions. Additional features include remote error-sensing and a choice of signaling options.

The 56SQ2, which is rated for operation over -55?C to 85?C, is priced at $3,200 each in 100 pieces. Delivery is 12 weeks ARO.
