Ardence Inc., a developer of software platforms, recently released version 7.0 of RTX, its software solution architected as a high-performance extension to control Microsoft Windows without having to interfere with or modify any of the Windows infrastructure.

According to the press release, RTX provides functionality that gives developers deterministic control of Windows-based systems that require a high level of performance and scalability. This real-time control solution helps developers to reduce system costs, improve reliability, speed the time to market and increase the performance of their applications.

The RTX 7.0, added Ardence, with continued support of multi-core architectures, introduces a powerful new feature for RTX developerssupport for Host/Target debugging using Visual Studio 2005 and .Net 2003. Host/Target debugging allows the debugging of an RTSS application on target hardware running an RTX runtime environment from a development system. Host/Target debugging includes a debug agent that resides on the target and provides Ethernet-based communications back to the host machine running the debugger.

Additional features introduced in the new version include Windows Server 2003 support; Visual Studio 2005 support; RTX Debugger Data Extension, which provides increased visibility into RTX internal data structures through a set of extension commands; and PerformanceView, which provides the developer with a true view of overall system CPU utilization. PerformanceView provides two graphs: one detailing RTX, Windows and system idle time CPU utilization, and a second showing the maximum time spent in RTX in the last sample period to flag instances which exceed a specified threshold highlighted for easy identification.

Ardence in Taiwan
Ardence recently formed a partnership with Maojet Technology Corp., a distributor of high-quality and hi-tech products for the EDA/IP market. Based on the agreement, Maojet will market and sell Ardence's embedded solutions in Taiwan. Both companies said the partnership will strengthen their ability to provide solutions and technology to more customers.

Ardence's products will be included in Maojet's exhibit at next month's 14th Annual EDA & Test-Taiwan Conference & Exhibition (EDA&T-Taiwan) in Taiwan.
