New Japan Radio Co. Ltd (NJR) unveiled two new products that target battery-operated portable devicesthe NJU7777 and NJU7254.

The NJU7777 is a CMOS low dropout (LDO) regulator IC that promises high precision, low current consumption and a high ripple rejection ratio. Housed in an SC82AB package (2-by-2.1-by-0.95mm), which has a 48 percent smaller mount size than NJR's conventional product, this device has a 18A (typ) current consumption, 65dB ripple rejection ratio, 150mA (max) output current, 1 percent output voltage accuracy, 0.13V input/output electrical potential difference (standard, at 100mA output with 3V product), and 9V maximum input voltage. The NJU7777 also includes an overheat protection circuit and an overcurrent protection circuit for small battery-operated portable devices such as mobile phones, digital still cameras and digital video cameras.

The second product NJR announced is the

NJU7254, a 2-output LDO regulator IC that employs two identical LDO circuits in the same space and package as one output LDO can occupy. Using CMOS processing, said the company, the NJU7254 features a high ripple rejection ratio (65dB) and low current consumption (30A and 89 percent reduction for a 270A bipolar product), which is ideal for small, portable and highly integrated battery-operated devices with dispersion type power sources. The NJU7254 also features a precision output of 1 percent. dropout voltage of 0.09V (typ), and maximum input voltage of 9V.
