R/flex JADE flexible circuit materials

Rogers Corp. recently introduced the R/flex JADE series flexible circuit materials, the next generation of the R/flex CRYSTAL epoxy adhesive system. Environmentally friendly, the company said these materials meet flammability requirements without the use of halogens. They are also Pb-free solder-capable, meeting environmental requirements without compromising the performance required for today's demanding flexible circuit designs, the company explained.

The new flexible circuit materials promise superior thermal stability and robustness to withstand multiple passes through Pb-free processing. Like its predecessor, Rogers said R/flex JADE flexible circuit materials provide increased yields and better results in fine-line, tight tolerance designs due to excellent dimensional stability properties.

According to the company, R/flex JADE flexible circuit materials are formulated to suit the most technically demanding circuit applicationsHDD, cellular phones, laptop computers, PDAs, semiconductor packages, etc.

The family of R/flex flexible circuit materials is manufactured under rigorous process control. Process capabilities are continuously monitored for critical properties such as peel strength and dimensional stability. The materials contain no cadmium, lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium compounds, PBBs, PBDEs and meet or exceed the IEC and JPCA halogen-free requirements and the EU's RoHS directives.
