Illuminated switches available with custom snap-on caps

The C&K ELUM series of right-angle illuminated pushbutton switches from ITT, Electronic Components is currently available with custom snap-on caps. Customers who order C22 actuator-style ELUM switches with or without LEDs can now specify snap-on caps with a standard universal power symbol or a custom design.

A key feature of the ELUM series is that it eliminates the need for a separate LED and light pipe on a circuit board, and is said to be the only pushbutton designed so the LED travels with the actuator to ensure even distribution of light.

The ELUM switch series offers a low 6mm profile and is available in through-hole and surface mount configurations. It features silver- or gold-plated contacts that range in ratings from 0.01mA to 250mA and from 20mV to 50Vdc. The latching version (push-push) can be specified for switching functions such as mode select and power on/off, while the momentary version is used for test, reset and notification functions.

In addition, the ELUM series offers a 30,000 cycle life which makes it suitable for a variety of telecommunications, industrial, medical, automotive and consumer electronics applications. These switches are RoHS-compliant and compatible with high-speed reflow soldering processes.

Standard pricing for 10,000 pieces starts at $1.01 for a momentary through-hole version without a LED and $1.49 for a latching surface-mount version with a LED.
