PowerDsine expands into India

PowerDsine Ltd announced the official opening of its new office in Mumbai, India. The new office enables the company to serve its existing and potential customers in India and provide them with direct access to its PoE products, technical and marketing staff, along with localized support.

"Our expansion into India is a further effort to penetrate one of the largest markets in Asia," said PowerDsine CEO Igal Rotem in a statement. "We believe that India has great business potential which can be seen in the expansion of government and institutional infrastructure, and we believe that this new office will greatly benefit Indian customers who will be deploying technologies such as Voice over IP and Wireless LAN systems."

Vikas Pinjarkar, PowerDsine's country manager for India commented, "We view India as a market with great potential, given the growing technology needs of corporations throughout the country, particularly in the three major tech centers of Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore."

The company is also marketing both its PoE integrated chipsets and Midspan products via distributors, resellers and direct sales in India.
