LeCroy Corp. has introduced the PETracer Gen2 Summit, its fourth-generation protocol analyzer for PCI Express. According to the company, the new device allows developers facing time constraints to bring products to market sooner and at a lower cost. With the fastest data capture rate in the market, the device targets the growing demand for advanced PCI Express solutions.

"The industry's adoption of critical new standards such as PCI Express Gen2 is a strategic growth driver for LeCroy," said LeCroy executive VP and COO Scott Bausback. "We believe the PETracer Gen2 Summit will gain widespread acceptance for its fast response time and ease-of-use."

LeCroy said the new device doubles the company's acquisition bandwidth, promising more accurate results and faster error location times than other analyzers. The device captures and analyzes at data rates up to 5Gbps based on the new PCI Express 2.0 specification, but also operates at speeds as low as 2.5Gbps for Gen1 compatibility. The high-end analyzer features real-time monitoring tools, protocol traffic summaries, detailed error reports, powerful scripting and the ability to create user-defined test reports.
