Vicor's DC/DC converters

Six new mid-power Micro DC/DC converters from Vicor, additions to their 48-Vdc input family, include a 50W, 3.3V model; and 75W models at 12-, 15-, 24-, 28- and 48Vdc for distributed power, medical, ATE, communications, defense and aerospace applications. The modules' low-noise ZCS/ZVS topology greatly reduces the design effort and filtering costs required for power converters to meet agency conducted emissions requirements.

"These mid-power Micros provide designers, who don't require the full-power capability of the Micro module, with a wider range of options that will make their designs more cost effective," said Robert Marchetti, manager for product marketing at Vicor. With these new models, the 48V Micro family now comprises 16 models with output voltages from 2- to 48Vdc and power levels from 50- to 150W. Efficiencies range up to 89 percent for the higher output voltages. These models are available in five different environmental grades, with six different pin options and three baseplate options. They can be configured in any combination using Vicor's Custom Module Design System.

The new mid-power Micros, optionally available in RoHS versions and measuring 2.28-by-1.45-by-0.5inches, are available from stock to 6 weeks and are priced from $48 in quantities of 1,000.
