DAQ system promises high speed, flexibility

Data conversion tech provider Acqiris said it is now offering a compact, high-speed, multichannel DAQ system that delivers essential oscilloscope capabilities and can easily be combined with a desktop or laptop PC.

The new MAQlink3000, 5000, and 8000 systems can accommodate multiple 8-, 10-, and 12bit CompactPCI digitizers. Each includes a high-speed interface for desktop PCs or laptops, so acquired data can be processed by the highest speed processors. This makes the MAQlink system a powerful DAQ system for high throughput measurements and analysis of many different analog signals in high-energy physics, hydrodynamics, astrophysics and ultrasound applications, the company said.

In addition to the PC interface, the MAQlink systems can accommodate up to 28 high-speed acquisition channels. These channels are all controlled through the company's unique AcqirisMAQS multichannel acquisition software installed on the interfaced PC. Once installed, there is no need for extensive software development.

AcqirisMAQS is an easy-to-use client-server software suite. Vital information can be seen with a multiple waveform display on the PC monitor. Data is more accessible with an oscilloscope-like GUI.

MAQlink's modularity enables users to select only the hardware components needed for a specific application and expand to a larger system as needs grow. This helps reduce instrument obsolescence and increases return on investment.

MAQlink systems feature a choice of interfaces available with copper or fiber optic connections.
