Op amp targets acceleration, vibration, optical sensors

New Japan Radio Co. Ltd has announced the NJU7009, a low-noise, single CMOS operational amplifier engineered for signal processing of acceleration sensors, vibration sensors and optical sensors.

The company said the new op amp features improved noise characteristics at low-voltage operation. It also offers low-voltage operation (from 2.2V), low current consumption (330A typical VDD = 3V), and low noise (10NvHz typical at f = 1kHz), while delivering 1pA (typical) high input impedance characteristics. The device is suited for signal processing of acceleration, vibration and optical sensors, said the company.

According the New Japan Radio, its new product enables the user to configure a charge amp that combines an acceleration sensor and a vibration sensor for applications that detect acceleration and direction of moving objects. It can also be connected to a photodiode for use in applications that detect optical signals in a current-voltage conversion process.

Packaged in a 2-by-2.1-by-0.95mm SC88A, the NJU7009 is priced at 47 cents each in 3,000 units. The device is available in sampling and production quantities.
