Taiwan RF/mixed-signal IC design house Uniband Electronic Corp. (UBEC) has announced a new 3.3V wideband LNA monolithic microwave IC (MMIC) with internal input/output matching and high/low gain controlthe UA2725.

Recently certified by the Taiwan Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), the new device works with Asia Fortune Electronics' USB dongle for DVB-T applications. The device was tested under BSMI's rigorous process for performance with adjacent channel DVB-T interference; multipath interference; and, impulsive interference tests. The Taiwan DVB-T industry is scheduled to be fully compliant with the BSMI standard in 2008.

The UA2725 is optimized for operation from 0.05GHz to 4GHz and is available in a 6-pin SOT363/SC-70 plastic package. The device features two gain steps control. For small signals, the gain is 20dB at 2.2GHz and P1dB over -1.5dBm at 2.5GHz. For large signals, the device delivers 18dB attenuation and iP1dB over 0dBm. The company said the device is stable and consumes only 40mW.

The device can be used for DBS, LNB IF amplifier, DVB, cable, ISM and other general purpose applications.
