Taiwan-based System General has announced an advanced encryption standard (AES) key socket programming support for all Altera Stratix II devices. In support of the Stratix II FPGA design security feature, the company developed a programming software and custom socket adapters to accommodate all Altera Fine line BGA packages (F484, F672, F780, F1020 and F1508) . The AES key socket programming support for the Stratix II FPGAs is available on the T9600 Universal Programmer for hand-inserted programming, and on all automated programming systems.
Suitable for applications requiring design flexibility and protection, the Stratix II design security feature uses industry-standard AES encryption algorithm along with a 128bit non-volatile key to protect designers' intellectual property. Stratix II FPGAs are said to be the first and only high-density high-performance FPGAs with non-volatile design security.
"We are proud to provide the sole socket programming support for the design security feature available on Altera' s Stratix II FPGAs" said Don Yang, System General VP. "Our Stratix II FPGA support is an extension of our ongoing partnership with Altera. In continuing our commitment to Altera and our customers, this partnership will include support for the next generation Altera FPGAs."
