PowerDsine joins Ethernet Alliance

PowerDsine Ltd, a supplier of Power over Ethernet (PoE) solutions, has joined the Ethernet Alliance, an industry group focused on supporting the advancement of existing and emerging Ethernet technologies.

PowerDsine joins a group of over 60 members of the Ethernet Alliance, including its founders: 3Com, ADC, Agere Systems, AMCC, Aquantia, Broadcom, Force10 Networks, Foundry Networks, Intel, Lawrence Berkeley Labs, Pioneer Corp., Quake Technologies, Samsung, Sun Microsystems, Tehuti Networks, Tyco Electronics, The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory and Xilinx.

"As Power over Ethernet technology becomes more widespread and the 802.3at standard continues to take shape, the Ethernet Alliance is a great vehicle which can be utilized to communicate to the industry and expand the total addressable market for PoE products," said Igal Rotem, chief executive of PowerDsine, in a statement.
