The new 1mm centerline card edge connector from Tyco Electronics is designed to meet the high performance point-to-point full duplex I/O bus standard for the PCI Express Architecture. Applications include graphics cards in serial bus applications, I/O client cards for applications requiring higher speeds than the PCI Bus, desktop computers, servers, and telecommunications switches and routers.

The card edge connector is available in vertical, straddle mount, and right angle configurations for all standard PCI Express slot sizes (x1, x4, x8 and x16). Solder or press-fit tails are available for the vertical configuration. Other options offered include plastic locating posts or metal hold-downs, as well as various tails lengths and plating options.

The PCI Express card edge connector is priced at 55 cents each for a standard x8 configuration. Delivery is six weeks.
