PCB makers show strong August sales
Keywords:Compeq? Unitech? PCB? sales?
PCB makers Compeq Mfg Co. Ltd and Unitech Printed Circuit Board Corp. have posted strong August sales with robust growth in shipments of handset-use PCBs. Despite the weak sales in the first half of the year and inventory adjustments, both companies started receiving rush orders for PCBs used in mobile phones last month, according to industry sources.
Compeq's August sales reportedly gained 5 percent sequential growth to about $47.2 million. The company is also forecast to exceed its April record sales of $50.4 million. The company shipped over 15.5 million units of handset PCBs last month and estimates that shipments for Q3 will rise by at least 5 percent sequentially to 45 million units.
For Unitech, shipments of handset PCBs rose to 7 million units in August. It is projected to have at least 2 percent sequential growth to 25 million units in shipments for the third quarter, contrary to its expectations of a 5 percent decline.
Unitech revealed that order visibility has been extended up to November.
