Mitsubishi Electric Corp. has announced the development of a 10Gbps transceiver module for optical communication. The company said its MF-10KWXB-002ZA module is the first compact optical transceiver to comply with the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system under the 10Gbps Form-factor Pluggable Extended Multi-Source Agreement (XFP-E MSA), the industrial standard for 10Gbps optical transceivers.
The device has the following key features:
- ITU-T Cband/100G grid
- Chromatic dispersion: 1600ps/nm (at 80km transmission distance)
- 1530-1560nm (DWDM)
- Power consumption of less than 6W
- Operating temperature range: -50C to 700C
- Electric interface: XFP MSA 4.0 Serial Interface (XFI)
- Size: W48, D78, H13 (mm)
Sample shipment will begin on October 1 and production will start in January. Sample price is $5,000.
