SMK's new TS-9 series coaxial connector

SMK Corp. has announced the development of the TS-9 series coaxial connector with a switch. Intended for mobile communications devices such as PC cards and mobile phones, this new product is used for the external connection of an internal or external antenna.

The device's receptacle is SMT-ready, right-angle type. Its 6.85-by-3.8mm mounting space is one of the smallest in the industry, making the device suitable for smaller and thinner designs. The device uses the company's exclusive double-contact structure to ensure excellent contact reliability.

Mating of the receptacle (CRS5001-3702F) and the plug (CRC9001-5301F) is through a half-locking system, enabling a clicking response. Operation life is 5,000 cycles. The operation frequency range extends from DC to 3GHz.

This RoHS-compliant product will be available in October with sample price for the receptacle set at $1.7 each.
