Phihong's Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) package, comprising the POE20U midspan and the PSD14 splitter, offers a complete remote power solution for IP security cameras. "Many fixed IP security cameras are compatible with PoE but do not have the capability to carry out the full pan, tilt and zoom functions without the availability of higher power," said Keith Hopwood, VP of marketing. "This package provides that to customers at a more affordable price than other alternatives."

The POE20U midspan, compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard for detection, disconnect and voltage control functionality, will provide up to 20W for a single camera. The PSD14 splitter can provide up to 14W to the camera at the end of a 100m cable. Gigabit data compatibility for high quality pictures is also provided.

The PSD14, available in 5V and 12V versions, is designed for mounting next to a camera. It's available with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T data rates and comes with a University of New Hampshire, Interoperability Lab (UNH IOL) test report.

The POE20U is priced at $29.95 each. The PSD14 (non-PoE enabled applications) is $24.95.
