software vendor Maplesoft recently announced the availability of the Maple Toolbox for Matlab. The Toolbox is said to combine the best in symbolic and numeric computation to develop mathematical solutions and perform in-depth analysis of the results. According to the company, the beta version was tested over a period of two months.

"The feedback we received from those who tested the beta version reinforced our belief that this is a unique product, with great problem-solving capabilities, combining the strengths of two of the world's best mathematical products," said Maplesoft CEO Jim Cooper in a statement.

The Toolbox consists of two components: Maple 10, described as a powerful and intuitive tool for solving complex mathematical problems and creating executable technical documents, and the Maple-Matlab connector. The company explained that the Maple-Matlab connector is an add-on to Maple 10 that provides a two-way link between Maple and Matlab.
