Shenzhen IDEAL Microelectronics Co. Ltd (ADEL) and Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) announced that they have jointly developed fingerprint identification processor ramped to volume production.
The new fingerprint identification processor is based on TI's TMS320C5000 DSP platform, and includes ADEL intellectual property (IP) owned fingerprint identification technology. The value of ADEL's industry proven processor has been confirmed by customers in trial production and field application before entering volume production.
"The partnership between ADEL's innovative fingerprint recognition technology and TI's industry-leading DSP and analog technology will bring forth the development of a larger number of fingerprint recognition applications, enabling consumers a more secured and safe environment," said Eldon Teng, director of business development, TI Asia.
"This is a symbolic move in the fingerprint recognition market. The combination of ADEL's IP and TI's high-performance DSP will pave the way for more innovative fingerprint recognition applications. ADEL will soon launch a series of new applications based on the fingerprint recognition processor introduced today and work on developing a broader market," said Min Yu, president of ADEL.
