First GPS pavilion opens at sourcing fair

Used in a variety of applications, GPS earns a spot at the product demo areas of the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components on October 11-14, 2006. Booths showcasing GPS products will be among the 2,300 supplier booths at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.

GPS was once limited to military use. In recent years, however, GPS has been entering mainstream markets as it makes its way into the car and mobile handsets. Hence, the GPS market is growing and now deserves a slot in this seasons China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components.

More than 45 suppliers will showcase their satellite equipments and GPS products at the fair, including GPS antenna, satellite subsystems, GPS engine boards and modules, low-noise blockers (LNBs), telematics, and fixed-mount, portable, in-vehicle and PC/PDA GPS receivers from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Chinese companies Shoulder Electronics Ltd and Central Pacific Electronics (Shenzhen) Ltd, and Taiwan suppliers Argo Technology Co. Ltd, Chinmore Industry Co. Ltd and Evercom Communication Technology Co Ltd will showcase their GPS antennas. Meanwhile, GeniusTek Corp. will exhibit their satellite subsystem.

GPS engine boards and modules will be showcased at the booths of Taiwan suppliers Guidetek Technology Co. Ltd and Modulestek Inc. Jesmay Electronics Co. Ltd will display its Universal Ku-Band LNBF. Buyers will have a variety of choices among GPS product exhibitors from Taiwan, including Ai Tek Inc., d-Media System Co. Ltd, Fontastic Telecom Inc., George Tang Industrial Corp., Rexon Technology Corp., Union Rich Development Corp., Maxwell Co. Ltd and MSTronic Co. Ltd.

GPS product exhibitors from China include Austar Technology (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd, Central Pacific Electronics (Shenzhen) Ltd, Great Well Electronic Ltd, Coagent Electronic S&T Co. Ltd, Guangdong Surpass Electronic Product Casing Co. Ltd, Shenzhen Aida Electronic Technology Co. Ltd and Shenzhen OWA Electronics Co. Ltd. Hong Kong-based Mars Technology Development Ltd will showcase its portable GPS navigators.

Other products at the fair include consumer electronics, in-car electronics, power supplies, optoelectronics, digital imaging and portable electronic, computer and networking, telecom, security and safety, electronic components, and health and personal care electronics.
