PMOLED targets cellphone, MP3 player displays

MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd has rolled out a passive matrix OLED (PMOLED), the D53C4EP7003 (EP7003), designed for use in the sub-displays of mobile phones and displays of MP3 players.

EP7003 supports 96 x 96 resolution, 262,000 colors, and various system interfaces, including RGB and VSYNC. Its display module thickness is smaller in size, reducing the response speed over many TFT and CSTN products on the market today, the company said. The EP7003 is also optimized so developers can easily program the gamma setting.

The EP7003 is currently available in limited quantities with mass production planned in Q4 2006.
