Lattice Semiconductor Corp. announced that automotive versions of its ispMACH 4000Z CPLDs have been characterized and qualified to meet the certification requirements of the AEC-Q100 standard as defined by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC).

Designated the LA-ispMACH 4000Z CPLD family, the Lattice Automotive, or LA, devices join the previously announced LA-MachXO (Crossover PLDs) and LA-ispMACH 4000V CPLDs in Lattice's growing automotive product portfolio. Production quantities of the new devices will be available in Q4 2006, and Lattice can provide standard Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation to automotive customers requiring it.

The LA-ispMACH 4000Z CPLD automotive family delivers low power consumption (standby current Icc as low as 10?A). The LA-ispMACH 4000Z family includes three devices with densities of 32, 64 and 128 macrocells. The LA-ispMACH 4000Z CPLDs are live at power-up and offered as a flexible, low cost alternative to ASICs in automotive design.
