Agilent considers new manufacturing site in India

Agilent Technologies disclosed that it considering to set up a manufacturing location in India.

The company is currently undertaking a $30 million expansion of its R&D, support and customer care operations in India, is planning a new center in Chennai in southern India, and is establishing its first campus near Manesar, Haryana, which will host state-of-the art facilities to aid in developing financial and business processes, and R&D programs once completed.

William Sullivan, Agilent president and CEO, said the company plans to ramp up its R&D work, double staffing and evaluate India as a potential manufacturing location, according to a report in The Hindu Business Line. Sullivan added that the company has yet to make a final decision, said the report.
