GaAs MMIC transmitter from Mimix

Mimix Broadband Inc. has introduced a family of GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) transmitters in RoHS-compliant SMT packages, covering 10GHz to 45GHz.

The company said these parts provide high linearity, gain control and broadband performance provided in standard QFN packages. They are manufactured in 0.15?m GaAs pHEMT technology, integrate LO doublers, LO buffer amplifiers, balanced mixers and RF driver amplifiers, and are suitable for wireless communications applications such as millimeter-wave point-to-point radio, local multipoint distribution services (LMDS), SATCOM and VSAT applications.

These highly integrated, multifunction devices promise a distinct advantage by reducing design effort and cost, improving reliability and yield, and getting product to market faster.

"By offering these highly integrated transmitters in true surface mount packages, customers can lower their material and assembly costs compared to chip-and-wire assembly," stated Paul Beasly, product manager at Mimix. "In addition, they can improve their time to market by using these packaged transmitters, which are 100 percent RF tested for specification compliance over a variety of environmental conditions."

Engineering samples are available today from stock, along with small production quantities.
