Mosaid Technologies Inc. announced that a U.S. federal judge in California has granted the company a motion to dismiss a complaint for declaratory judgment by memory chip vendor Micron Technology Inc.

U.S. District Court Judge Jeremy Fogel granted the Mosaid motion for "lack of subject matter jurisdiction" on the grounds that the company's conduct did not imply imminent litigation against Micron, according to Mosaid.

Fogel issued a second order denying motions by Micron and ProMOS Technologies Inc. to intervene in a case between Mosaid and Infineon Technologies AG. The company settled a long-running patent dispute with Infineon in June.

"As a result of these orders, we will likely reach an earlier resolution in our ongoing litigation for patent infringement against Micron, ProMOS and Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall division," said George Cwynar, Mosaid president and CEO.
