RF SAW filter for GPS from Temex

Temex has announced the launch of a new RF SAW filter for GPS receivers particularly suited for marine navigation, automotive and recreational applications.

One of the most essential elements of a GPS receiver design is filtering at the RF stage. RF filters must be capable of combining low insertion loss and high rejection. Designed for standard GPS applications, TMX W007 promises the best insertion loss/rejection trade-offs in the market, Temex said. It also has a miniature surface-mount packaging to meet the needs of small form-factor GPS receivers.

TMX W007 has an absolute attenuation of 40dB minimum at 1710MHz. The filter center frequency is 1575.42MHz with a bandwidth of 2.4MHz over a temperature range of -40C to 85C. TMX W007 is available in a Pb-free SMD 2.5-by-2-by-0.9mm package.

In the same product range, Temex also offers TMX W314, which has an absolute attenuation of 35dB minimum at 1710MHz. TMX 314 has a bandwidth of 2.4MHz over a temperature range of -40C to 85C and is available in a ceramic SMD 2-by-1.6-by-0.8mm package.

Both filters are RoHS-compliant and available in a fully Pb-free version. Custom designed GPS SAW filters are also available upon request.
